Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ House Turned Into Airbnb, With Reservations Beginning This Week

40 years after the premiere of Prince’s celebrated film, Purple Rain, fans can celebrate the anniversary by staying in the actual house featured in the movie. The Minneapolis home has been turned into a special Prince-themed Airbnb, and limited-time reservations are starting up this week. Various outfits worn by Prince are displayed behind glass throughout the house, with era-appropriate clothing choices available for the guests to try on as well. “What guests will be able to do themselves is actually play around with a selection of really iconic ‘80s outfits and looks and styles that they can kind of engage their inner rock star themselves,” said Ali Killam, an Airbnb spokesperson. The cost of the rental is remarkably affordable, with prices set at $7 per person – Prince’s favorite number – for up to four guests. There are 25 nights available for rent over seven weeks between October 26 and December 14. (Billboard)
