On the one-year anniversary of the tragic passing of Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor, the exact cause of her death was revealed. The late Grammy-winner’s death certificate was registered in London by her husband, John Reynolds, with the specific cause of death being listed as a result of, “exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma together with low grade lower respiratory tract infection.” O’Connor died in her home in London on July 26, 2023, at the age of 56.
In a gesture meant to honor Sinéad O’Connor on the anniversary of her death, a wax figure of the singer was unveiled on July 25 at Dublin’s National Wax Museum. But after a backlash erupted following a negative public reaction to the look of O’Connor’s wax figure, the museum quickly removed it and promised that it will be recreated with “a more accurate representation.” O’Connor’s brother John apparently said it looked, “between a mannequin and something out of the Thunderbirds. It looked nothing like her and I thought it was hideous.” (Billboard)
