The estate for late singer Donna Summers has reached a settlement with Kanye West over a lawsuit regarding his unauthorized use of her disco hit, “I Feel Love.” The lawsuit stems from when Ty Dolla $ign and Kanye West sampled “I Feel Love” for their 2024 song, “Good (Don’t Die),” a track off of their collaborative album, Vultures 1. Immediately following its release, the Donna Summers estate filed a copyright infringement lawsuit, a move which ultimately led to the song being ordered to be removed from streaming services. “Plaintiff anticipates that the final settlement agreement can be executed shortly, and soon thereafter, the parties will be in a position to file a stipulation for dismissal of the action in its entirety,” Summers’ estate lawyer Stanton L. Stein wrote in his court filing. (Rolling Stone)
