Jack Antonoff Plans To Set Up Recording Studios At LGBTQ+ Youth Shelters

Grammy-winning producer Jack Antonoff wants to make recording studios more accessible to those who typically don’t have access to them. The Bleachers frontman has launched his Public Studios initiative, with initial plans to open up recording studios in LGBTQ+ youth shelters before expanding to bring music spaces to cities around the country. “I plan to spend a large part of the next chapter of my life bringing these spaces to people who wouldn’t have access to them, public studios available to those who are priced out,” Antonoff wrote in an Instagram announcement on Tuesday that he titled, “Shadow of the City.”

“Our plan is to build these spaces, pay for maintenance and engineering, and let the centers give out the time slots for people to use them.” Antonoff’s charitable organization The Ally Coalition will be leading the efforts to build the studios, though he is seeking assistance from, “Anyone who believes in this and has resources that can help should please reach out as we get this off the ground.” (Rolling Stone)
