Drake Helps Raise $40 Million To Keep Italian Soccer Club From Bankruptcy

According to reports from GQ Italia, Drake played a crucial role in helping raise $40 million in order to keep Italian soccer club Venezia FC from declaring bankruptcy. The distinguished Venice soccer team currently resides in Serie A, the Italian premier league. But the franchise was apparently considering filing for bankruptcy back in the 2023-2024 season, and was in desperate financial straits before the new season started.

“I got a call from Brad Katsuyama, co-owner of Venezia and a good friend of mine,” said Drake’s CBO Matte Babel. “He laid out the problem to me in a simple way: Venezia has to raise €10 million in a couple of weeks, and then at least €30 million in a few months, or the club will go bankrupt.” It apparently only took Drake’s team two weeks to help raise the money needed for the club to ward off bankruptcy. In addition to Drizzy’s financial assistance, Venezia FC also struck an apparel deal with Drake’s Nocta brand, who helped design their new uniforms. (Billboard)
