Finneas Announces Release Of New Album, Shares Video For First Single

Finneas has shared details of his second solo studio album, For Cryin’ Out Loud!, a ten-track collection that will be released on October 4 via Interscope. Billie Eilish’s older brother and her favored producer is following up his 2021 solo debut, Optimist. To promote the new album, Finneas shared a music video for the record’s lead single and title track. The clip was written and directed by Isaac Ravishankara, which features Finneas suffering one painful misfortune after another. The track includes the sounds of a large brass band, representing a shift in production style by Finneas, a notorious sonic perfectionist.

“I made my last album completely alone in a room,” Finneas said. “And that was satisfying to some degree, because I just worked on it until it sounded how I wanted it to sound. But it was really lonely and I didn’t feel like, ‘This is the best possible way it could sound, I’m so glad I made it alone.’ I thought I did an OK job. So on this album, I’ve made a point to be hyper-collaborative. Fortunately, most of my friends are producers.” (Rolling Stone)
