The Weeknd Teases Next Phase Of The ‘After Hours’ / ‘Dawn FM’ Trilogy

Following Saturday’s announcement of The Weeknd‘s innovative upcoming concert in Brazil this September, which promises to feature a “never-before-seen production,” the chart-topping, Grammy-winning singer teased new music with an elaborate Instagram reel. The Weeknd’s captioned the post, “There Are Three Chapters in this Tale. See you in SÃO PAULO…” which alludes to this new work being the third album of his promised trilogy which began with 2020’s After Hours and continued with 2022’s Dawn FM.

The dreamlike clip features iconic images from throughout the Weeknd’s past four years, ending with visuals from presumably his next creative phase, all soundtracked by his own original music that sounds like a hazy mix of his recent sonic collages. The Weeknd hinted at this new release back in 2023, revealing, “I’m finishing the third part of this saga, of this trilogy. The name of it will come out soon.” Perhaps more details will be revealed at the Weeknd’s big upcoming show on September 7 at Sao Paulo’s Estádio MorumBIS. (Variety)
